Circle

I attended a circle meeting at my Church today. Wow how it reminded me that I need to read the Bible. Everything that I learned in Sunday school as a child as escaped me. The circle meets once a month for one hour and is followed with a lunch and a speaker. Childcare is also provided which is a plus for me.
This year we will be studying the book of Ruth and Jonah. We received a study guide to follow along with. So, goodbye watching Bachelor on Monday Nights, hello reading the bible in preparation of my Circle Meetings. It is a great group of women that I mostly know, but some I look forward to getting to know. After our discussion we head to the Fellowship Hall for lunch. Today's lunch was yummy. The room is filled with older church members that have been in the same circle for years. I hope this circle will be one of those many years from now.

I was a member of a circle at my last Church in a different city and it was mostly a group of women with small children and the circle was focused on community care. We had speakers that were on interest to women and volunteered with a community group. I really enjoyed the circle-I was working at the time, so it was an opportunity for my child to play with other children his own age.

It looks like my Circle now is very Bible oriented. Oh how I need it! Mr. 5 is constantly asking questions about God and Jesus and what a better way for me to learn!

That sounds great. I could use a little Bible brush up myself.

BTW, my Too Be Named clutch was awesome this weekend. I received several compliments!

I'm a lurker coming out to say hello! I'm right in this boat with you, luckily my Growth Group this "semester" (we change every three months or so) is reading the ENTIRE New Testament in two and a half months! Eeee! Then I'll just have to go back and catch up on the Old Testament :)

Wow! That sounds very neat, wish my church had that!
I enjoyed my visit to Smith Mountain Lake, just like you said I would! We had a dinner cruise out on the Virginia Dare, then Tuesday my HWH rented a boat for me and drove me around the lake. Perfect weather!

Sounds great! Can't wait to hear more about it. Our Bible Study group needs a name, we are just Bible Study!!! Here's a quote I love:
Just as there is no beginning or ending to a circle, there is no beginning or ending to God's love.

Lurker here....

My circle was my "salvation" when my kids were little. I looked forward to it, and some of my closest friends are still from that initial group I bonded with over 18 years ago (even though most of us no longer go to that church). We supported each other through a lot of stuff....especially babies. We were a fruitful lot!

I finally found a new circle in our "new church"...where we've been for over 8 years. Of course, now we're all dealing with high school and college kids...different challenges. Proms, sorority rush, weddings. Yikes!

I have a bible group they call them "small groups" at my church. We get together once every two weeks and I think it is so wonderful! Really helps me stay connected to God and brush up on my bible. Not to mention the fabulous conversation!
